DSM-5 includes a new category called “mild neurocognitive disorder,” a modest decline in one or more areas of cognitive functioning that does not interfere with independence. Some clinicians worry that aging people with normal cognitive declines could mistakenly be diagnosed with this new label. This video examines how mental resources are allotted differently in the young and the elderly.
