PART 7 EFFECTIVE GROUP COMMUNICATION
Most public speaking occurs in small groups involving anywhere from three to twenty people. These groups form in classrooms, offices, and even online discussion spaces. Small groups are also a common unit for giving group presentations. Therefore, learning how to work within a small group setting is vital to success both in school and in the workplace.
A small group functions best when its agenda, or overall objective and schedule for meeting it, is clearly articulated and followed. Whether the group must make a decision or a presentation, setting an agenda can help the group resolve conflicts, focus, and stay on track.
