Additional Assignments

1. Using the documents in this unit, write a short paper answering the question: What role did U.S., Soviet, and Cuban perspectives play in causing and solving the Cuban missile crisis?
2. In small groups, devise a role-playing game in which some play President Kennedy, some play Premier Khrushchev, and some play Fidel Castro. Each finds him- or herself in the midst of the crisis and argues for his or her own solution to it. One optional object of the game can be to come up with a mutually agreed-on outcome to the crisis.
