1. Compare and contrast the multiple accounts of the Laguna Pueblo baseball game presented in this unit. How do they differ, and which accounts do you think are most accurate and why?
2. Given the many accounts you have read about R. G. Marmon, speculate as to his goals. Did he want greater political authority for Pueblo people? A different emphasis in the administration of federal policies? Or was he as self-serving as Crane presents him?
3. Central Question: How did the participants in the Laguna Pueblo baseball game define and understand race, and what does this suggest about the role of race in the first half of the twentieth century?
