Your college writing course is designed to help you read, write, think, and rewrite. When that course ends, your writing days are not over. Instead, you move on to other courses and other writing assignments. In those future situations, whether or not the assignments and criteria are presented like those in a composition course, you still need to read, write, think, and rewrite. The assumption — and the hope — is that your experience in your writing class will equip you to write successfully in your future courses and eventually in your workplace, career, or community. To do so, you will want to transfer your learning and apply it in new situations.
