Finding Recommended Internet Resources

Go first to online resources recommended by your instructor, department, or library. Their recommendations save search time, avoid random sites, and can take you directly to respected resources prepared by experts (scholars or librarians) for academic researchers (like you). Your college library, on campus or online, will offer many more resources such as these.

Research Web sites sponsored by another library, academic institution, or consortium such as ipl2, the Internet Public Library at ipl.org, the Michigan eLibrary at mel.org, InfoMine at infomine.ucr.edu, or the authoritative World Wide Web Virtual Library at vlib.org
Self-help guides or Internet databases organized by area (social sciences or business), topic (literary analysis), or type of information, such as the extensive Auraria Library Statistics and Facts guide at guides.auraria.edu/statistics
