The New Yorker Web site’s fiction page offers dozens of short stories that you can read online. Select and read one story that looks interesting to you. (Choose one that doesn’t have a lock next to it; those are only available to subscribers.) Then respond to the following prompts.
Return to the story’s Web page. At the end of each story, you can click on a link labeled “E-mail” if you wish to send a message with a link to the story. Using your reactions above, write a recommendation of the story to send along to a friend who might also enjoy it, or to yourself, for safekeeping and future reading. Be sure to send a copy to your professor, too.
