However, it’s important to remember that intelligence is a social construct (a concept that humans invented in order to explain individual differences) and not an actual trait such as blood type or height that can be measured objectively. This means that there can be no universally accepted definition of intelligence.

Each culture defines intelligence in slightly different ways, emphasizing the characteristics that help people function effectively in that particular environment. In other words, a culture’s definition of intelligence is a reflection of what that culture values in a human being.
