Imagine you are a scientist, a researcher, or investigative reporter, and your job is to find and report the facts and convince readers to believe your results. Now that you have learned more about the similarities and differences in qualitative and quantitative research, which kind of research do you think will better convince your reader: quantitative or qualitative methodologies?

Does the topic you’re investigating influence the methodology you would choose (e.g., gender differences in experiences of school bullying versus reaction time of women and men pressing the space bar on a keyboard when seeing the word “sex” on a computer screen)?
