A Skinnerian community In his novel Walden II, B. F. Skinner depicted a community built on his principles of learning—a community in which desirable behaviors were so consistently reinforced that people lived in harmony and there was no need for elaborate systems of punishment (e.g., jails). Some have acted on his message. These signs are posted at Los Horcones, a community in Mexico that was established in 1973 according to principles outlined in Skinner’s book. The community is still in existence today.
