Hasty generalizations. You make a bold claim based on limited evidence: “Four-
Bandwagon appeals. You claim that if others are doing what you’re recommending, then it’s a good course of action: “Many other colleges no longer place a high priority on SAT or ACT scores for admission, so our college should do the same.”
Straw person claims. You oversimplify or misrepresent the other side of a controversial topic to make your own case stronger: “Anyone who supports this proposed legislation has no respect for the U.S. Constitution.”
