Analyzing Nonverbal Communication in Mediated Contexts Retrieve all the messages you communicated in mediated contexts during the past week. This can include text messages, e-mails, posts on social media, and so forth. As you reread all your messages, make a list of the ways you communicated nonverbally, and describe your intention for doing so (emphasizing a point, indicating sarcasm, etc.). Did your nonverbal communication achieve its intended effect? If not, how could you have communicated differently? What could you have added (or taken away) to ensure your nonverbal communication was successful?

Your response has been provisional accepted and will be graded by your instructor.

Nonverbal Communication in Leaders’ Speeches Reread the section on the types of nonverbal communication on pp. 142-152. Afterward, find three videos of speeches made by various leaders, including national presidents, CEOs of companies, or directors of organizations. Write two or three paragraphs describing the types of nonverbal communication the leaders used in their speech to show that they were competent leaders. How was their nonverbal communication similar? How was it different? Of the three speeches you viewed, which suggested the most competent leader?

Your response has been provisional accepted and will be graded by your instructor.
