-Oh, hi. I just made some coffee. You want some?

-Seriously? You were going to drink from that?

-Yeah, well?

-Tim, the sink is full of dirty dishes again, and I've got friends coming over in an hour. I'm really frustrated by how messy things are.

-Well, I-- I didn't know you had anybody coming over.

-OK, it's-- it's not just that, OK? I feel like our apartment is always disorganized, and it's really bothering me. Look, we need to work on keeping this place looking more presentable. If we divide up the housework, we could easily keep it clean, and then we can have people over whenever we want and we're not going to worry about the mess.

-Yeah, I guess it could be in better shape, couldn't it?

-Look, for now why don't we both just work on the kitchen, but in the future we'll figure out a way to divide the chores. I could do the kitchen and the vacuuming if you take care of the bathroom? Or you could do the kitchen. Whatever you want.

-Yeah, I like to cook, so maybe you could throw grocery shopping and cooking into the mix.

-Sure.

-Yeah?

Yeah. Uh, also we could alternate the weeks on the shopping to spread out the cost?

-Yeah.

-If that works for you.

-Yeah, that works.

-OK.

-All right, cool.

-All right. Thank you.
