Oral Citations

The following scenario will enhance your ability to use effective oral citations of sources in your speech. As you watch the first video, recall what you’ve learned about citing sources in your speech. Then complete the Your Turn prompts. Finally, watch the Take Two! video to explore how this scenario could have gone differently.

1. The Problem

For his communication class, Reynaldo is giving a speech about why it’s important to develop good sleep habits. His professor wants him to incorporate at least three academic sources. Reynaldo knows how to write source citations for research papers, but he isn’t sure how to go about crediting his sources in a speech.
