Christopher Columbus statue and fountain outside the entrance to the Union Station train terminal, Washington, D.C., Carol M. Highsmith [PHOTOGRAPH]

This sculpture and fountain was designed by Lorado Taft. Its dedication in 1912 was a major event, partially funded and organized by the Knights of Columbus. The fountain has since fallen into disrepair.
