Done - 1. To start the experiment: Done - A. Press the space bar to begin the experiment. Appears on screen Done - B. When the space bar is hit, the following events happen: Done - 2. At the beginning of each trial, a fixation mark (a plus sign) will be shown at the center of the screen. This mark must be centered on screen and should stay on for 0.75 seconds. Done - 3. Then there should be a blank (white) screen for 0.25 seconds. Done - 4. Then the two 2-D asymmetrical images (or another image from the Advanced Setup menu) will be presented closely, but equidistant to the sides, one to the right and one to the left. Done - There should be a keyboard response (f for same and j for mirror). Done - The images displayed are randomly generated and can be either: one mirror and one same (on either Left or Right) or two same or two mirror. Done - A random variable of: 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 degrees of rotation is made invisibly on the back end. Done - The right image's degree of rotation is chosen randomly from 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 degrees. Done - The left image's degree rotation is calculated by taking the right image degree of rotation, plus the random variable generated invisibly on the back end. Done - 5. When the participant responds, the images should be removed and a 1 second blank period begins. Done - 6. The next trial will begin immediately (Steps 2-5). Repeat until all trials are complete. Each angle of rotation should be tested 20 times (10 same, 10 mirror). There are seven angles, so there will be 140 trials total for the standard setup.
