The conclusion of your speech is the last opportunity you’ll have to reinforce the topic and purpose of your speech as well as to remind your audience about the key points you want to live on in their memories. In other words, competent speakers should reiterate this essential information so that listeners are able to mentally check off what they have heard and what they should remember. For example, “Today, I discussed the benefits of seeing your physician for an annual physical, even when you’re feeling fine. Not only can this simple visit offer peace of mind and help prevent costly medical conditions in the future, but it may also save your life if you have an underlying medical problem that requires early diagnosis and treatment.”
