Allocation of Power

Yet another way to resolve conflict is to decide, with the other person, which of you will have the power to make certain decisions in the relationship. For example, in a couple, one individual may be dominant on one issue (such as finances) while the other makes the decisions on others (such as child rearing); in a work environment, several employees may split the responsibilities of a given project, with one member making financial decisions, another in charge of creative ones, and a third in charge of communicating all those decisions to others outside the group.
