Practice and Revise Your Presentation

Even experienced presenters find it useful to practice their presentations. They understand how difficult it can be to get everything right the first time. Practicing allows you to ensure that you don’t leave out important information and ideas, that the embedded media and links you’ve included in your presentation display properly and function as expected, and that any animations and other special effects work as intended.

Practicing in front of a group of classmates or friends also allows you to determine whether your overall line of argument makes sense, whether you’ve organized your reasons and evidence effectively, and whether the sources you’ve chosen are appropriate. It can also help you learn whether your equipment is working properly and whether your presentation will fit within any time limits you’ve been given.
