Before you integrate a paraphrase into your document, make sure that it is an accurate and fair representation of the source. Reread the source, and double-check your paraphrase against it. Then revise the paraphrase as necessary so that it fits the context and tone of your document. Be sure that you have conveyed the meaning of the passage but that the wording and sentence structure differ from those in the original passage.
