Review and Improve Your Draft

Writing a successful evaluative essay depends on choosing an appropriate subject, considering your writing situation, selecting appropriate criteria and evidence, making fair judgments, and deciding how to frame and organize your evaluation. Don’t be surprised if your first draft doesn’t successfully address all of these challenges: few first drafts do. Instead, take advantage of the opportunity to revise. As you review your draft, pay particular attention to your choice of criteria, your selection of evidence, and the fairness of your judgments.
