Hugo Münsterberg (1863–1916) After earning his Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Leipzig in 1887, Münsterberg established himself as a pioneer in applied psychology, extending his research to business, medical, legal, and educational settings. Invited by William James to teach at Harvard University, Münsterberg taught there until his death.
