Graphing Tutorial: Area Graphs Walkthrough
- Click the blue boxes to open text boxes for your title and labels.
- Once you’ve entered all three labels, a text box will appear on the right with the prompt to enter a country abbreviation.
- You can start with any country, but you must enter all of the data points for that country before moving on to another. Start with the lowest value and proceed to the highest. The program will only accept values in the table in the correct order.
- You’ll alternate between entering the country abbreviation and data points. For example, to enter the full data set for Japan, input:
jp
8.6
jp
9.5
jp
9.6
jp
9.7
jp
9.8
- TIP: Enter the country abbreviations exactly as listed with two lowercase letters.
- TIP: This exercise uses real data, and CO2 per capita levels go up and down over time. Make sure you enter them from lowest to highest and not in the order they appear on the table.
- Once you’ve entered all five data points for all 4 countries, your area graph will appear.
- TIP: The ‘Clear’ button will be updated in a future version of the program.
