Using the Term Hundred
The term hundred is used idiomatically in English. When it is linked with numbers like two, eight, and so on, the word hundred remains singular: Eight hundred years have passed and still old animosities run deep. Add the plural -s to hundred only when no number precedes the term: Hundreds of priceless books were lost in the fire.
