   Do you plan to visit your campus’s career center or your career adviser?

   A.

   Yes. They can help me prepare for what I’ll need to do to meet my goals after graduation.

   I’ve thought about it, but I’m a little nervous because I’m not really sure that I know what I want to do.

   C.

   No. I already know what job I want, and I don’t see how they can help me.

2. Question

   Do you think that it would be a good idea to work while you’re in college?

   A.

   If I could find a job on campus or a part-time job that relates to my major, it would be a good idea.

   B.

   I’m not sure. I could use some extra money, but I don’t know what kind of job to look for.

   C.

   I’d rather not work; that will cut into my social life. But if I have to work, I want a job that will pay me a lot of money.

3. Question

   Why is networking important in deciding on and advancing in a career?

   A.

   If you make connections with people who are doing what you think that you want to do, you can learn more about the job and maybe have an “in” on a future job.

   B.

   I know that networking is important, but I always feel funny about introducing myself to someone I don’t know.

   C.

   Networking is important because success is all about who you know, not what you know. My motto is, “Fake it and make it.”

   What kinds of questions are good to ask during an interview for a job?

   I like to ask what the work environment is like to determine if I would like to work there.

   I usually just let them ask me all the questions. I can never think of anything to ask.

   Mostly I want to know how much vacation and sick leave I get.

   How did you decide on, or how do you plan to choose, your major?

   I have thought about both my personal interests and what the job market is offering in the way of my interests.

   I am getting a handle on what my interests are by taking a wide range of courses, but beyond that I haven’t thought much about it.

   I guess I’ll just major in whatever kinds of courses I get the best grades in.
