Below are suggestions for resources that are available at many colleges and the online resources that are available to everyone.

AT YOUR COLLEGE

Academic Advising Center selecting courses, obtaining information on degree requirements, and deciding on a major.
Learning Center with memory skills and studying for exams.
Computer Center using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
Counseling Center dealing with personal problems and stress management.
Math Center improving your math skills.
Writing Center writing your first paper or revising a first draft.
Career Center with career interest assessments, counseling, finding a major, job and internship listings, interviewing with prospective employers, and preparing résumés and interview skills.
Transfer Center finding information on transfer policies, requirements, and programs at four-year institutions that you can transfer to.
Adult Reentry Center as a returning student, in making supportive contacts with other adult students, and gathering information about services such as child care.
Veterans Office as a veteran, in managing financial aid and paperwork.
International Student Services as an international student, in making the transition to a new country and culture as well as to the college.
