The day after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, third grade school teacher Jane Elliott wanted to give her students in a small town in Iowa a lesson on racism that they would never forget. She decided to divide her class into two groups based on a trait in her class. After that, they were treated differently based on this trait, giving the students first-hand experience on prejudice and discrimination that would become famous throughout the country. In part two of the video, the effects of the division in class are shown. Then on the next day things change.
