The Indians Delivering Up English Captives to Colonel Bouquet, 1764 Conflicts continued in the Ohio territory well after the Peace of Paris. Colonel Henry Bouquet led an army of 1,500 men into the region, forcing the Shawnee and Delaware to accept peace terms. These included the return of all English captives. Artist Benjamin West makes clear that some women and children did not want to leave their Indian families.
