Dream Act Demonstrators, 2012 The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act is a proposal that would provide an opportunity for children (under sixteen) of undocumented immigrants in the United States to gain legal residency status. First introduced in Congress in 2001, the bill has not passed. In 2012 protesters marched in Phoenix after the state denied DREAM Act students any state services, including driver’s licenses or tuition breaks.
