Truman’s firing of MacArthur brought him widespread condemnation in the press and the American public. Unusual, then, is the following political cartoon, which criticizes MacArthur’s vision of the Korean War. Created by the Pulitzer Prize–winning editorial cartoonist Herb Block, it was published by the Washington Post only weeks after MacArthur’s firing.
