Working with a small group, make a list of the newspapers, Web sites, magazines, TV shows or networks, or other resources that you use to gather news and information about politics, society, and culture. Then try to locate these media resources along a ribbon that moves from the political far left to the political far right. Be prepared for considerable disagreement. When you are done, compare your placements with those of other groups working on the same project. What may account for your differences?
