People rely on critics of every kind of entertainment to help them decide what to read, watch, see, or hear. For many years, readers of Entertainment Weekly turned to Lisa Schwarzbaum for film reviews. Appraising the first of the Hunger Games movies, she has to accommodate avid fans of Suzanne Collins’s books, as well as moviegoers entirely new to the dystopian trilogy. Both are tough audiences.
