2.120 Music and video games. You are planning a study of undergraduates in which you will examine the relationship between listening to music and playing video games. The study subjects will be asked how much time they spend in each of these activities during a typical day. The choices for both activities will be a half hour or less, more than a half hour but less than an hour, and more than an hour.

1. (a) There are two variables in this study. Do you think one is an explanatory variable and the other is a response variable? Explain your answer.

2. (b) Sketch a two-way table that could be used to organize the data. Which variable is the row variable? Which variable is the column variable?

3. (c) How many cells are in the table? Describe in words what each of the cells will contain when the data are collected.
