Figure9-6Average Annual Growth in Labour Productivity in Canada, 1997–2011 The bars show the average annual labour productivity growth from 1997 to 2011 for the provinces and from 1999 to 2011 for the territories (older data does not exist for the territories). Labour productivity growth varied across Canada; some growth rates were above the national average while some were below. Nunavut experienced the highest average rate of labour productivity growth during this period (3.2%); Newfoundland and Labrador came in second with an annual average growth of 2.6%. On the other hand, Alberta had the lowest labour productivity growth among all provinces and territories.
