CHAPTER 3: Getting Started with the Team Charter
1. Return to the scenario of Kelly and Sean’s group at the beginning of this chapter. How might a team charter have helped team members through some of the difficulties they experienced?
2. Have you ever been on a team with a negative contributor? What made this person a negative contributor? How could he or she have avoided this? What are some ways other than failing to follow through on commitments that can make someone a negative contributor?
3. Have you ever been on a team in which different people had different ideas about what the project should be, do, or look like? At what point in the project did you recognize these different perspectives? How might a team charter have helped your group handle these different perspectives?

The videos in this textbook are directly based on the interactions of actual student teams. Before you complete any of the video exercises, take a moment to watch the introductory video which describes how the videos were produced and created.

4. View Team Video 5: Jayme, Megan, and Joe. Then, answer the question that follows.

List three problems this group seems to be having and explain how a team charter might have addressed these problems.
