Now that you've had a chance to explore the evidence, write a short essay (1–2 pages) on the following topic:
Create an account of Alexander's achievements and importance written from the point of view of an ancient author. Your “author” may be a contemporary of Alexander or an observer looking back at his career decades, or even centuries, later. The author may be a native of any part of the Mediterranean world and may reside in the land of his or her birth or, like so many Hellenistic people, may have traveled to a distant city in search of opportunity. Be sure to consider how the choices you make about your author's background might shape his or her view of Alexander.
You may find it helpful to review the section in Chapter 4 of your textbook titled “Alexander's Conquests and Their Political Legacy” before you begin.
