In 2013 approximately two thousand demonstrators seeking to change immigration policy marched in May Day rallies in Los Angeles, California. The marchers called for immigration reform, which by the twenty-first century had become a key issue not only in this city located north of the U.S.-Mexican border but also throughout the United States.
