CBS HELPED ESTABLISH ITSELF as a premier radio network by attracting top talent from NBC, like comedic duo George Burns and Gracie Allen. They first brought their “Dumb Dora” and straight man act from stage to radio in 1929, and then continued on various radio programs in the 1930s and 1940s, with the most well known being The Burns and Allen Show.
