Activity Objective:

Students will interview their peers to gather information on, and then analyze the effects of, social media and traditional media on the social activism surrounding the gun debate following the Parkland school shooting.

Interview 10–12 fellow students to find out, anecdotally, about their feelings on how new social media and “old” legacy media, such as TV and radio, helped and/or hurt social activism around the gun debate after the Parkland, Florida, shooting in early 2018. Ask your interview subjects these questions (and add one or two of your own). Record their responses in the boxes below each question.
