The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) launched its 100-watt low-power FM station, WCIW-LP, 107.9 FM, in December 2003. The CIW is a community-based organization, composed mostly of immigrant farm workers in Florida. The station covers a fifteen-mile radius and broadcasts news, educational programs, and music in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and indigenous languages of Mexico and Guatemala.
