Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005, creating the worst natural disaster in the nation’s history and an unimaginable opportunity for crisis communications. The Japanese tsunami in 2011 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012 further show that crisis management continues to be a global concern.
