1.1 Sexism and The English Language

This video discussed how different words are associated with males and females. Words become “gendered” depending on how they are used in dialogue. For instance, “feisty” is an example of a female gendered term. The University Illinois and the University of California studied dialogue in fictional stories between 1800 and 1910 and found that vocabulary is starting to become less gender specific.
