Khalid Latif, Shattered Silence
Imam Khalid Latif is currently a chaplain for New York University and the New York Police Department (NYPD), as well as the executive director of the Islamic Center at New York University. When he was appointed NYPD chaplain in 2007, Latif was the youngest chaplain in the history of the NYPD at the age of 24. He has also made appearances on radio and television, including the BBC, NPR, CNN, and The Colbert Report, and has written for or been interviewed by the New York Times, New York magazine, Newsweek, and Time. In this video, Latif talks about his experiences as a Muslim student in New York City on 9/11.
