Fight Against Genetically Modified Food (June 12, 2012)
Synopsis
One of the biggest challenges that farmers face is the overwhelming growth of weeds that kill off their crops. With the emergence of herbicide-resistant "super weeds," the problem has gotten worse, leading Dow Chemical Company to develop 2,4-D, a powerful herbicide that kills super weeds, but also nearly everything in its wake. In response, DOW created a type of corn that is resistant to 2,4-D, spurring environmental activists to question the safety of genetically modified foods.
