Would you predict an interaction? In other words, would the lines connecting bars on a graph be different from parallel? And if they are different from parallel, how are they different? If they are different just in strength, we are predicting a quantitative interaction. If the direction of effect actually reverses, we are predicting a qualitative interaction.
