Introduction

Carbohydrates are a key energy source for the body, but some carbohydrate-containing foods are more healthful than others. With this exercise, you will evaluate dietary carbohydrate, fiber, and sugar intake and compare them with the current dietary recommendations.

In this activity, you will explore your carbohydrate intake and compare your values with the current dietary recommendations.

This activity can be completed using the Analyze My Diet tool linked from your LaunchPad course or any dietary analysis software that provides the daily average amount of vitamins consumed.

To complete the activity using Analyze My Diet:

  • If you have not already completed the Analyze My Diet Tutorial and tracked at least one day’s nutrition and activity, do so first.
  • Within Analyze My Diet, go to the Reports tab.
  • Select “Bar Graph” on the left.
  • Select the day(s) that are a good representative of your typical diet.
  • Click “Show Report” to download your Nutrition Report.
  • Within the report, you will see the value (average eaten) and percent (completion of target consumption) for each nutrient.
  • You will also need values from the “MyPlate” report.

For more instructions and help using the Analyze My Diet Tool, please visit the help page.
