Question 1
Which statement is most likely to be uttered by a person who has an internal locus of control?
Question 2
Shalayja shows up late to class for 3 consecutive days. After the third class her teacher calls her on this behavior and instructs her to show up on time, to which she replies, “Well, there’s nothing I can do about the traffic that I drive through.” Shalayja is demonstrating a(n) blank locus of control rather than acknowledging that she could leave her home earlier to get to class.
Question 3
When a person develops an external locus of control that goes to extreme levels, this can result in a sense of blank. This may lead that person to stop attempting to change or improve problematic situations.
Question 4
Your Take! Do you think it is better to always have an internal or external locus of control, or does the situation determine which it should be? Can you give an example of each of the three sides to this question (internal, external, and both)?
