Question 6.6

6.6 Use the Central Limit Theorem applet.

Let’s consider the uniform distribution between 0 and 10. For this distribution, all intervals of the same length between 0 and 10 are equally likely. This distribution has a mean of 5 and standard deviation of 2.89.

  1. Approximate the population distribution by setting and clicking the “Generate samples” button.
  2. What are your estimates of the population mean and population standard deviation based on the 10,000 SRSs? Are these population estimates close to the true values?
  3. Describe the shape of the histogram and compare it with the Normal curve.
