China has given loans and aid to Angola in excess of U.S.$4 billion since 2004, and in return, China has been guaranteed a large portion of Angola’s future oil production. In addition, 70 percent of Angola’s development projects, such as building and upgrading railways, have been given to Chinese companies, most of which import workers from China.
