Chapter Review

This chapter covers the basic guidelines for selecting and presenting your work in a portfolio. It provides some great ways to think about your overall progress as a writer and what more you would like to accomplish.

To review this chapter, choose one or more of the following strategies:

  1. Look at the material you have collected for at least one of your essays this semester, including pre-writing, all rough drafts, peer-review worksheets, and the final draft. What kind of progress did you make from the pre-writing and early drafts to the final draft? Write a brief paragraph explaining what you learned and what changes you made along the way.
  2. Answer two or three questions from the “Thinking about Your Reflective Letter” section, thinking about your reading and writing for the whole course so far.
  3. Try to explain what you have learned, or at least part of it, to someone you know. Explain the key concepts and give some of your own examples to illustrate those concepts.
